Port Charlotte
Сцісла пра брэнд
Port Charlotte is the heavily peated single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay. Barley is malted to roughly 40 ppm phenols — the middle rung of Bruichladdich's "peat trinity", between the unpeated Classic Laddie and the extreme Octomore.
The name recalls the village of Port Charlotte on Loch Indaal, home to the Lochindaal distillery (1829–1929) — a nod to the peated heritage of that side of the island. The label was introduced when Bruichladdich was revived in 2001 under Mark Reynier. Every drop is distilled, matured and bottled on Islay by Bruichladdich (owned by Rémy Cointreau since 2012).
Style
Despite the heavy peat, Port Charlotte keeps Bruichladdich's elegant streak — smoke wrapped around fruit and a coastal, saline edge. The core is Port Charlotte 10 and the Islay Barley series (island-grown barley), joined by wine- and sherry-cask editions (the MRC / OLC / PAC / SC codes mark the finish). All are one brand, differing by vintage and cask type.
