Recommended sherry cask whisky

The sherry cask is, alongside ex-bourbon, the most important vessel in whisky — and the source of a completely different profile: dried fruit, raisins, chocolate, nuts and baking spice instead of vanilla and honey. Full maturation in oloroso or Pedro Ximénez gives the famous "sherry bombs" (Glendronach, Aberlour A'Bunadh, Tamdhu), while a sherry finish adds depth to lighter malts.
