The company in brief
A Glasgow-based independent bottler with over 70 years of history, founded by Fred Laing. Specialises in single-cask bottlings from across Scotland. Flagship series: Big Peat (blended malt from Islay distilleries: Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and the legendary Port Ellen), Rock Oyster (Islands blended malt) and Old Particular (single cask). In 2013 the family split — Hunter Laing was founded by Frederick Laing as a separate entity.

- 1948 Fred Douglas Laing establishes Douglas Laing & Co. in Glasgow, Scotland, as a whisky blending and bottling company.
- 2000 The company launches its "Provenance" series of independent bottlings, showcasing whiskies from various distilleries.
- 2013 The company undergoes a division; Fred Laing Jr. and his daughter Cara Laing continue Douglas Laing & Co., while Stewart Laing establishes Hunter Laing & Co.
- 2023 Douglas Laing & Co. announces plans for a new distillery, Clutha Distillery, to be built in Glasgow.
